The Graham Family Legacy

Memorial Contributions

In December of 2014, the balance of funds were transferred from the estate of William J. Graham.  The donation was made in honor of William J. Graham's parent, William C. Graham and Bessie A. Graham, to be used to pay off the church's mortgage, with any remaining funds to be used for the church's building fund as the Trustees and church members see fit.  William Graham above all else wanted this gift to help eliminate debt on the church building and then be used in service to the membership and the larger Rising Sun community.  Jake and his mother loved and frequented quoted poetry.  The following poem points in part to what Jake had in mind:

Turn Again to Life
by Mary Lee Hall

If I should die and leave you here a while,
Be not like others, sore undone, who keep
Long vigil by the silent dust and weep.

For my sake turn again to life and smile,
Nerving thy heart and trembling hand to do
That which will comfort other souls than thine;
Complete these dear unfinished tasks of mine,
And I, perchance, may therein comfort you.
